L.E. Goldsborough & Son, Inc. was founded by Leslie Eaton Goldsborough, Sr. a successful businessman in his own right when he opened an independent insurance office on Maryland Avenue in downtown Baltimore.
His premise was simple: insurance products were lagging behind the economic boom that had hit the Baltimore area in the late 1940's, and he wanted to do something about it. Mr. Goldsborough's vast contacts in the business community allowed him to develop relationships that brought together business leaders and insurance companies for mutual benefit.
Leslie Eaton Goldsborough, Jr. became associated with the business in 1950. In 1976 he became the president of the firm. The insurance industry was in turmoil.
The historians will refer to the seventies and early eighties as a period of time when the insurance industry seemed to turn on its clients. Large premium increases, loss of available markets, and reductions in coverage as the result of insurance carrier loss experience left many clients questioning the ability of their chosen agent. During that same period, L.E. Goldsborough & Son, Inc. under the guidance of L.E. Goldsborough, Jr. offered renewals to over 98% of their clients.
Today, with technology changing the face of risk management for both the business client and personal consumer alike, we find ourselves re-visiting Mr. Goldsborough senior's initial premise under the leadership of Donald Grauel. We utilize the latest technology as a tool to offering enhanced personal attention to our clients. We work primarily to achieve and maintain the trust of the people who have brought us to where we are today.
